To the Queenes most Excellent Ma[jesty]

Humbly Complayninge Shewithe & besechethe your highnesse your true and leige subiectes Oswald Heron of Chipchasse in the County of Northumberland gent and John Nixon of Humsaughe in the sayd County Yeoman th[at] where one Thomas Erington of Haughton in the sayd County of Northumberland gent was lately seisid in his demeasne as of Fee of an[d] in a messuage Tenem[ent] or fermhold in Humsaughe afforsayd & of & in div[er]s lands tenem[ents] and heredita[ments] to the same belonginge and the sayd Thomas Erington so beinge therof seisid about august in the xxiiijth yeare of your highnesse Raigne for a certayne sum of mony to him by one Robt Woodman payd demised to the sayd Robert Woodman the sayd messuage tenem[ent] and fermehold for the Terme of xxjty Yeares of w[hi]ch term sixe Yeares or therabowts are now expirid by force of w[hi]ch demise the sayd Robert Woodman entrid into the sayd messuage tenem[ent] & fermhold and other the p[re]mises w[i]th thapurtenances & therof was lawfully possessid & he thereof so beinge possessid about June in the xxixth Yeare of your highnesse Raign did bergaine sell and Conveighe the Residue of the said terme of Yeares then to Come of and in the p[re]mises to one Raynold Heron gent who soone after demised the same to your said subiectes by force Whereof Your sayd subiectes entrid into the same p[re]misses and were thereof lawfully possessid untill about one halfe Yeares past or theraboutes at w[hi]ch tyme so it is may it please your highnesse the sayd Thomas Erington & one Thomas Clav[er]inge Mathew Charleton John Ussher Thomas Dawson, George Ussher, Willm White, James Browne, Willm Dodde, Thomas Ussher, Anthony Robson & Willm Lishman, beinge most of them servantes to the the sayd Thomas Erington and beinge Armid w[i]th swordes, daggers bowes and Arrowse Steele Caps pikes staves bale & other Armor & Weapones in warlike mann[er] not havinge the feare of God before ther eyes nor any Regard unto your highnesse lawes and statutes made for p[re]servacon of your highnesse peace and then and ther did Riotuslie Routusly & in most forcible mann[er] like p[er]sons not livinge under gov[er]nem[en]t w[i]th force of Armes enter into the said messuage tenem[en]t or fermehold upon the Quiet possession of your sayd subiectes & then and ther did w[i]th violence and force of Armes hurt and wonde your sayd subiectes in very grevose mann[er] and also did Assalt and beat div[er]se of your sayd subiectes tennantes & servantes and then and ther the sayd Thomas Erington, Thomas Clav[er]inge, Mathew Charleton, John Ussher, Thomas Dawson, George Ussher, Willm White, James Browne, Willm Dodde, Thomas Asher, Anthony Robson & Willm Lishman, by the p[ro]curem[en]t and Comandem[en]t of the sayd Thomas Erington did w[i]th lik[e] force of Armes expulse beat and Thrust owt your sayd subiectes and servantes of and from the possession of the p[re]mises & cast out & spoilid ther said goodes and the same in forcible & Riotusse mann[er] Dothe w[i]thhold and Deteyne from your said subiectes to ther great losse and hinderannce in tender Consideracon whereof the p[re]mises considerid for that the sayd Riotes Routes unlawfull assemblyes and other misdemeanors Remayne as yet unpunis[hed] and for the supp[re]sion & esschuinge of others to Count the lyke And that the said offend[er]s for ther sayd misdemeanors may Receave Condigne punishm[en]t may it therfore please your highnesse to grannte unto your sayd subiectes your highnesse most gracious Writtes of Subpena to be directid against the sayd Thomas Erington, Thomas Clav[er]inge, Mathew Charleton, John Ussher, Thomas Dawson, George Ussher, William White, James Browne, Willm Dodde, Thomas Ussher, Anthony Robson & Willm Lisshman, & to ev[er]y of them Comandinge them therby personally to appeare before the lordes of your highnesse most highe Courte of Starre Chamber Then and there to Answer the p[re]misses and to abyd and Receyve suche further order as the wisdomes of your highnesse Cowncell shall seeme meete and Convenient And your said subiectes accordinge to ther most bounden duty will pray Continually for your maiestis p[ro]sperity in all ioy and felycity ...th the increasse of muche virtue longe to Raigne
