1587 6 May 29 William Hovenden of Canterbury, Kent v. Richard Gaunt and James Nethersole, sometime mayors of Canterbury. A way leading from St. Peter's Street to the Rush Market by or through the precinct of the late priory of Blackfriars in Canterbury. Plaintiff, new owner of priory site, claims that the way is private and that, as owner of the precinct he is exempt from taxation.
