Outlaws (civil and criminal)

The project began in August 2025. The idea is to link the law suit which led to an outlawry with follow-up information regarding the property of the outlaw. Arranged by last name of outlaw.

    • outlawed in 1384/85 in Lincoln in debt suit brought by Ralph de Bardeney of Lincoln [16] SB
  • John Spoo, esquire of Norfolk
    • outlawed on 8 March 1389 in London at the suit of John de Eston and Simon Stratford, citizens and draper of London for a debt of £22 5s 4d brought in Common Pleas. Got pardon of outlawry on 20 May 1389 because he surrendered to Fleet prison [17] SB

    • outlawed at the suit of Thomas Crouk of Sidelyng in a plea of debt before Court of Common Pleas
    • capias utlagatum handed over to John Launce, undersheriff, in Salisbury by Richard Lambard on 2 June 1392; was captured but then released and threatened to kill Thomas [19]
